Trapper team

Fullbody drawing of three snake people. Ossinsa, left, sprays venom into a rolled-up leaf held in her tail. Tesents, center, holds a leaf in her tail and uses it to coat venom onto the end of a wooden stake held in her mouth. Lissek, right, holds another stake in her mouth and prepares to plunge it into the ground for use as a trap.

I was absolutely determined for my world to have snakefolk, but stuff like nagas or yuan-ti or whatever weren't quite what I was looking for (cool as those are!). I really like the idea of cultures and technologies emerging based on the abilities a species has, especially when they're not necessarily human-shaped. Snakes don't have much to work with, but… these gals are doing their best! Here, they spit their venom into rolled up leaves, rub it over sharp stakes, and plant them as traps among tall grass. It works, for what it is. I plan to work with them more and figure out how their societies work, especially within the broader context of this world.
