Please note that this privacy policy applies only to information collected and used by meg-james.com. This policy does not pertain to information collected and used by other services that this website utilizes, such as Patreon, Ko-Fi, Paypal, Stripe, and other third party services (Third Party Services). Please see those services for their own privacy policies.
Your Rights to Your Information
You have a right to access any of your personal information that I have available. If you wish to access your personal information stored on meg-james.com, or you wish to withdraw consent to this website’s storing that information, please send an email to meg-james@meg-james.com using the subject “Personal Info Inquiry”.

meg-james.com may collect and store the following information from you:

Email addresses: These are used to send you emails that you consent to, such as newsletters and replies to commission inquiries. Emails you receive may include post notifications, news, announcements, surveys, or information about discounts and special offers.
Your email address will be collected and stored when you make a purchase on meg-james.com. This is used communicate important information about your order, such as payment or shipping status.
meg-james.com will not collect or use your email address unless you make a purchase or opt in to receive emails. Once you opt out of an email list, your email address will no longer be associated with that list. If you have opted in to multiple email lists, you will have to opt out of each one if you no longer wish to receive emails from any of them.
By subscribing to any email lists, contacting me via email, or making a purchase, you consent to meg-james.com and myself (Meg James) using your email address to contact you.
Mailing addresses: Your mailing address will be collected when you make any purchase at meg-james.com which requires a physical item to be shipped or mailed to you. Your mailing address may also be collected in special cases, such as when you enter contests or giveaways involving physical prizes which must be shipped or mailed.
Your mailing address will only be used by us to send you items which you have agreed to receive. I will not mail anything to you which you have not asked for, without first providing prior notice and receiving your consent.
Mailing physical items to you may require me to provide your mailing address to Third Party Services, such as shipping providers or printing services. Note that I do not have control over whether Third Party Services keep your mailing address on file and how they will use it.
Names: These are used with email addresses or mailing addresses to identify you and make sure email or mail reaches the correct recipient. They may be legal names or nicknames, depending on what you submit to this website. Names will be kept or discarded in association with other information. For example, when you unsubscribe from the newsletter, I will remove both your email address and name from records.
Demographic information such as age: Age may be used to confirm eligibility for certain products, features, content, or services. You may explicitly or implicitly provide this information to us when you use or interact with one of our products, features, content, or services. For example, by submitting a commission inquiry and agreeing to my commission terms of service, I will assume you are over 18 years of age. Information about your age or date of birth will be kept or discarded in association with other information. When implicitly provided, it may not be formally collected or stored at all.
Payment information: When you purchase an item on meg-james.com, you will be required to input payment information in some form. I do not store or retain this information on meg-james.com’s server or in my records. meg-james.com takes payments using Stripe and Paypal, which securely store your payment details on their servers and in their records. Please see the privacy policies of those services to learn how your payment information and details are stored and used.
Other information: This may include information provided in the course of a commission inquiry, such as character names and social media links. These can be used to contact you while a commission is in progress (for example, sending a message on social media should email communication fail) and associate you with art you have paid for. Please see my commission terms of service for more information on how you are associated with commissioned art.
Content provided in reviews will be associated with the name or nickname you identify when purchasing commissioned artwork. This content can be deleted at any time upon request.
Information Storage and Disposal
Names, email addresses, and any other information you provide when you contact me may be stored in an email inbox or archived into private records. This information will be securely discarded at my discretion.
Unless you request for your mailing address to be discarded sooner, your mailing address will be kept in records and securely discarded once no longer needed, after no longer than one year.
Note once again that I do not have control over whether Third Party Services keep your name, mailing address, email address, or other information on file. Please refer to the privacy policies of those services.
If you would like to know what information I have stored for you or would like for me to delete your information from our records, please contact me with your requests – your trust is a high priority.
Sharing Information
In some circumstances, meg-james.com may share your private information with other parties for specific purposes.
For example, if you provide a mailing address to meg-james.com so you can receive a physical item that you have purchased or otherwise are entitled to, I may need to share your address with a Third Party Service and/or postal or delivery service. I will not share your mailing address with any Third Party Service except as strictly required for sending you a physical item which you have agreed to receive. These Third Party Services include postal and other delivery services, as well as printing and fulfillment services such as Printify and Gooten.
Cookies
Cookies are text files that are downloaded to your device and accessed when you visit the site they originated from. These files contain small amounts of information that allow websites to recognize your device on repeat visits. This website may use both persistent cookies and session cookies.
Persistent cookies remain on your device and are often used to remember information and preferences – for example, they are responsible for keeping you logged in to a website even after you leave that website.
